Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has a rich history and the mission to nurture future African American leaders. With over 80 years of service, Jack and Jill now represents more than 50,000 family members and 270 chapters nationwide. I am proud to be a part of an organization that continues to remain relevant and makes a difference now more than ever.

Dr. Cherise Moore, Chapter President
The Santa Clarita/Antelope Valley Chapter was charted on September 13, 2008
with a ceremony and celebration, which included Regional organization leaders. Mothers
Kim Hudson and Katrina Schauble led an interest group into a provisional chapter,
ultimately resulting in the chapter's chartering.
Thirty-four mothers made up the chapter.
Since Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was founded in 1938 it has evolved into a strong national organization as a result of strong programming. Our founder, Marion Stubbs Thomas had a simple idea of bringing together children in social and cultural relationships and this idea grew into a strong national organization. Our story of growth is one of amity and felicity. As new members were welcomed and then new chapters formed the aims and ideals of Jack and Jill were strengthened, always with our children as the focal point.
Mothers who are interested in Jack and Jill of America should explore our website and

On Mission".
Our chapter theme is “Mother's With A Purpose. Connected on Purpose". We are dynamic mothers working together in unity and on mission as we elevate, empower and prepare future leaders within the African American community. We understand the importance of choosing to be involved with groups that align with your personal values and I hope you find that Jack and Jill of America Inc. is the organization for you and your family.

SCAV CHAPTER THEME
The late Marion Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated on
January 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Twenty mothers came together to
discuss creating an organization to provide social, cultural and educational opportunities
for youth between the ages of two and nineteen. In 1946, ten chapters were involved in
the national restructuring process. Constitution and bylaws were drawn up and the
organization was incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware.
Today, Jack and Jill boast over 270 chapters nationwide, representing over 50,000 family
members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national
theme. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact
for children to stimulate their growth and development.
“To us as mothers, [Jack and Jill] has become a means of furthering an inherent and
natural desire …to bestow upon our children all the opportunities possible for a normal
and graceful approach to a beautiful adulthood.” --Marion Stubbs Thomas
